HISTORY & CLASSICS

Visit the historic area where WWII began for the US on the 7th December 1941, when the American naval base in Pearl Harbor was attacked. The USS Arizona Memorial, the USS Oklahoma Memorial, the USS Utah Memorial, and parts of Ford Island and Battleship Row are all must-see destinations for history groups looking for a greater understanding of this significant moment in history.

GEOGRAPHY & SCIENCE

With soaring mountains, the steaming craters of active volcanoes, endless coastlines and frozen in time forests, Hawaii offers a unique opportunity to witness geological processes in the making. A tour encompassing significant historic sites, the beautiful Polynesian culture as well as catching a wave or two, Hawaii will bring out the geographer in every student.

CULTURE

Travelbound believe that truly educational travel experiences involve hands on interaction with the real culture of a country – culture meaning the daily activities, customs and way of life of a people, not just the historic attractions and scenic sites. See what lies beneath the surface through these unique and immersive experiences:

  • Visit the Hawaiian Centre for Elders, a rare opportunity to truly immersive yourself in the Hawaiian culture as Hawaii’s Kupuna share their as language, history and crafts with you.
  • Hula dance lesson: Hula is the Hawaiian art of movement, dance, and storytelling. Hula began as a form of sacred devotion and became a key part of religious and cultural expression.
  • Lei-Making Class: Using special lei needles, learn the art of stringing flowers together to make a beautiful lei.
